An Enigmatic Mystery
The academic circles buzzed with Professor Armitage’s outlandish theories – a sophisticated civilization hidden deep within the uncharted territories, their existence intertwined with a mythical hoard of gold. Then, silence. His last known correspondence spoke of a breakthrough, a tangible clue pointing towards a lost city. Now, weeks have passed, and the jungle has swallowed him whole. You are drawn into this enigma – perhaps a concerned colleague, a former student, or an ambitious rival seeking to claim his discoveries. The jungle holds its secrets tight, and the path to the Lost City of Gold is paved with unanswered questions and the unsettling feeling that you’re not the only ones searching…
YOU (the players) knew Professor Armitage personally. Coming in from various background, with varying backstories, intentions and objectives, players will work together (or not) to find and rescue the professor.
Professor Alistair Armitage wasn’t just a name in dusty journals; he was a mentor, a colleague, perhaps even a friend. For some of you, he was the brilliant but eccentric professor who sparked your own passion for history, archaeology, or linguistics during your university days. You might recall his captivating lectures, the way his eyes would gleam when discussing forgotten civilizations, or the late-night debates fueled by strong coffee and even stronger theories. Others might have worked directly alongside him on past expeditions, witnessing his sharp intellect and sometimes reckless enthusiasm firsthand. His sudden disappearance, especially after his excited pronouncements about a breakthrough regarding the Lost City of Gold, feels deeply unsettling. A sense of loyalty, a debt of gratitude, or perhaps even a shared ambition compels you to seek him out. You know his brilliance is invaluable, and the thought of him lost or in danger spurs you to action.
