OPERATION: RED HOOD – 26th April 2025 Session 1
The agents of the Bureau of Narrative Preservation entered a fractured fairytale through the Hollowbrook Forest, tracking signs of corruption and fresh blood. Forgoing investigation of the nearby village, the team proceeded straight to the infamous Grandmother’s Cottage, where the heart of the anomaly awaited.
Within the decaying house, they discovered evidence of narrative breakdown and lurking danger—distorted clues, broken relics, and hints of something far worse than a mere monster. Laying an ambush, the agents waited for their prey.
Red, now more predator than victim, proved cunning. She called out to the agents, shattering any hopes of surprise. The ensuing battle was brutal. With a decisive blow, the party’s paladin unleashed a divine smite that ended Red’s life—but in doing so, inherited the very curse that plagued her. Now, a new vessel for the Wolf’s Burden walks the halls of the Bureau.
The mission’s aftermath was anything but clean:
• The cursed paladin was immediately quarantined by Bureau protocol for further testing and observation.
• The agents were granted access to an upgraded armory, but at a cost—owing a favor to the enigmatic and dangerous Queen of Hearts, much to Archivist Willow’s frustration.
• Narrative integrity remains unstable. The next anomaly has been identified: The Gingerbread Forest.
A new case file is being assembled, and the shadow of unfinished stories looms ever larger…
