Trekking the World is a route management game where you travel the globe to fantastic destinations, collect souvenirs, and race to become the most seasoned traveler.
Along the way, you score points in a variety of ways such as by collecting special souvenir sets or traveling to locations indicated on the oversized Destination cards.
On your turn, you MUST move to a another location on the map by submitting Trek Cards at hand. The number of distance you move depends on the total value. You cannot “jump” over another player, which effectively means that route block. This is one of the things you need to look out for. Firstly deducing the locations others might be after or the souveniers they might be collecting. While planned locations might not always go your way, part of the game is to block and force your opponents to take take alternative longer routes which waste game turns.
This game is all about planning for Movement efficiency. You need to maximise the oppurtunity to collect souveniers as the bonus points awarded by this cannot be overlooked. And this in turn is influenced by the destinations you are aiming to visit which gives you the bulk of your points.
Its always a balance of chasing after the destination and collecting souveniers. And the frequent blocking of other players.
