Just imagine. What if the Japanese attacked the United States in 1940 instead of on December 7, 1941? In this game, you get to explore that possibility. It’s spring, 1940 and Japan is at war with China. Any attacks on British, Dutch, ANZAC (Australian New Zealand Army Corps) or American territories will be considered an act of war by the Allied powers. They remain at peace for the time being, but each will be drawn into the war as certain events unfold. The game includes over 450 playing pieces plus models for tactical bombers and mechanized infantry.

The game can be played by up to four players. Choose which units to build for each power, then move attacking units into hostile spaces and resolve those attacks using dice rolls.Axis & Allies fans will love the extra large gameboard measuring 35”w x 32”h. This can be played as a stand-alone game, but it’s designed to be joined with Axis & Allies Europe 1940 to create a 6-player game on a map measuring 70″ wide by 32″ high (178 x 81 cm). (Sold separately. Subject to availability.)How will history be written? Axis Victory: Japan wins the game by controlling any 6 victory cities at the end of a complete round of play as long it controls Tokyo at the end of that round. Allied Victory: The Allied powers win the game by controlling Tokyo at the end of Japan’s turn, as long as they control an Allied capital (Calcutta, Sydney, or San Francisco) at that time.
